A program dubbed “Work and Happiness” initiated by the SRC and ENTERCOM of Akrokerri College of Education (AKROTCO) has successfully taken place.
This program was initiated to speed up a project. (building a store/warehouse) which was started on 24th February 2021 to keep luggage and baggage of students during vacation.
Recounting on the outcome of the program work and Happiness”, the SRC revealed that, they needed the energy and time of their Students to help till the site (with sand) where the store/warehouse is being constructed.
They revealed that their program was aimed at speeding up work on the site to address complaints of students who feel insecure leaving their luggage and baggage behind during vacation.
The program began with a prayer from the College Chaplain (Master Kusi Francis) which then followed a speech from the S. R. C President, Hon. Kym Samuel.
In his speech, he said; “we are here as a union to lully participate and lilt the image of this generation. And that, today’s program shall enable our exercise and to also entertain ourselves like the theme goes-Work Happiness- as we hold to our aim of building an ultramodern store/warehouse to keep our belongings”.
The Dean of Students Allairs (Rev. Fr. Angelo Opoku Elijah) was also present at the site motivated the students to be hardworking to achieve the set goal to get themselves warehouse. According to reports, his presence alone was enough to boost the energy of the students to keep filling the site.
The program also crowned man of the day, which I,s the best worker. This was awarded to Master Kumi Felix who is popularly known on campus as King kong.
