TTAG Warns Teacher Trainees As Non Teaching Staff Embarks On Strike

TTAG Warns Teacher Trainees Amid The Strike Action Of The Non Teaching Staff
The Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana warns students in public colleges of education not to give money to management to pay casual workers as the non teaching staff embarks on a strike action.
The warning comes after some trainees in the various 46 public Colleges of education reported to TTAG that they have been asked by authorities of the institution to pay casual workers to cook for them amid the indefinite strike action by the non teaching staff.
Also, Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana stated that it has come to its notice some college students in the absence of staff in the kitchen have been forced to suspend academic work to support casual workers to cook.
” Students in some Colleges of education have been asked to feed themselves until the strike is over. Authorities in some Colleges of education are asking students to pay casual workers because management has no money to pay them” it noted.
Furthermore, the non teaching staff in colleges of education has laid down their working tools on 11th April, 2022 to register their displeasure over the payment of some allowances.
Following the industrial action by the non teaching staff, Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana has assured the college students and the general public , it is working hand in hand with the Ghana Tertiary Commission and Conference Of College Principals to take steps to avoid the impending strike action.
In the spirit of true service to teacher trainees, TTAG and stakeholders , the leadership is working strongly with GTEC , PRINCOF and other stakeholders to deftly take step to resolve this as soon as possible” TTAG said.
