Teacher Trainees Allowance To Drop Soon


The leadership of TTAG met with the minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum to discuss issues which are dear to students in Colleges of education, during the discussion the minister assured the leadership of the government commitment to the welfare of trainees’ of which the payment of the allowance is part. He further stated that the ministry of finance has issued a cheque to the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) who is responsible for regulating tertiary institutions.

Dr. Mohammed Salifu, the Director General of GTEC also confirmed that they have received the cheque and will be working on it to ensure that appropriate bodies received the allowance as soon as possible.

Nana Kwaku Agyei Yeboah, the chief executive officer of student loan trust fund inform the leadership that they are almost through with the process and trainees will receive an alert as soon as they get the money from GTEC. He placed emphasis on the fact that the money passes through a lot bureaucracies before the monies are paid.

Trainees’ are therefore admonish remain calm and consider information from TTAG and SLTF with regards to the allowance and disregard bloggers who spread false hope.
