TTAG Threatened To Embark On Demonstration Over Undue Delay In Payment of Trainee’s Allowances
The Leadership of the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana, TTAG, in a press statement issued and signed by President of TTAG, Dimbie Abdul Manan has threatened to embark on demonstration if the government fails to pay all allowances owed every trainee in the 46 Public Colleges of Education.
According to TTAG, all efforts by the Association to get the allowances paid have been unsuccessful.
“We met the Minister of Education, CEO of Student Loan Trust Fund, and the Director for Ghana Tertiary Education Commission on the undue delay in the payment of the allowances but all have proven unsuccessful.”
“We gave the government Three Weeks Ultimatum as a matter of urgency to paid all arrears owed trainees.
“We shall take the necessary step to get the government to redeem its solemn pledge to trainees as all options are on the table now.”
It will be recalled that the Minister of Education has assured trainees that their allowances will be paid in full before the end of September 2021 but today is 5th October 2021 and the allowance has not been paid.
