The management of the Conference Of Principals of Colleges Of Education had a meeting with the leadership of the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana to discuss the 2022/2023 academic calendar for COE and other important issues.

Here is the outcome of the meeting

1. The issue of payment of compensation for all-year-round work (2021/2022) was revisited.
2. Princof assured CETAG that the compensation shall be paid as agreed.
3. Payment of compensation for all-year-round work for 2021/2022 shall be done on a cost-sharing basis between GoG and IGF.
4. The proposed 2022/2023 academic calendar was discussed extensively with some modifications to it.
5. Tutors who shall teach beyond the maximum credit load of 12 hours per week shall be paid an extra teaching load allowance for up to 6 hours per week by the colleges.
6. Individual colleges are permitted to design timetables that will ensure that tutors can handle courses in their specialized areas instead of assigning a whole level to a tutor or two.
7. The 2023/2024 academic calendar shall be modified after the Ministry has secured cabinet approval this year for the colleges to begin admitting day/non-residential students.
8. The final calendar shall be shared with the affiliate universities and all colleges before it is implemented.
9. Meanwhile, Princof pleaded with CETAG to reconsider calling off our strike to pave way for the 2022/2023 academic year to start.
