27 Colleges of Education
are benefitting from technical and
financial support (a total of GHS 540,000) to improve Wi-Fi connectivity through the
Colleges of Education e-Learning Fund.
This project was introduced to make the internet accessible to all teacher trainees in the 46 public colleges of Education in Ghana. The program is sponsored by Transforming Teaching , Education and Learning Ghana, UK aid, and Master Card Foundation.
Addressing the press, The Transforming Teaching, Education and Learning program Manager in Ghana, Mr.Robertson stated that with the introduction of e-learning in Colleges of Education, improving wi-fi connectivity will help to achieve effective e-learning.
He further stated that the introduction of the New Bachelor of Education as the minimum requirement for teaching at the country’s basic school has brought a lot of infrastructural challenges to Colleges of Education in Ghana.
This has compelled the Colleges of Education to resort to double-track systems and e-learning.
